UPTOWN SIDEWALKS

Uptown Sidewalk Replacement is continuing. There will be a job conference on Thursday June 5th 3:00 pm on the “diamond”. If you have any specific questions concerning this project, we encourage you to contact us.

Beginning Tuesday May 27th, work will begin on the replacement of the sidewalks on the “Diamond”. Work is scheduled to begin on the Northwest corner and will be substantially completed prior to moving to the next area. No more than two corners of the “diamond” will be worked on at any one time. The contractor has ninety (90) days to complete the project. During this period, the contractor will provide pedestrian access to individual businesses. Demolition of the existing sidewalks will take place during the early evenings to minimize disturbance to pedestrian traffic.

Street Sweeping Schedule

The Borough of Somerset generally sweeps the streets in the Uptown and East Main Street areas on Friday mornings at 3:00 am of each week.

We realize that there may be an accumulation of anti-skid material on your sidewalks left over from the winter. You may carefully sweep this anti-skid material into the street just prior to our scheduled cleaning.
