Chief Randy Cox thanked the organization for their donation which will provide the department with a substantial step towards their goal of acquiring either in-car video systems for their cruisers or body cams for wear by officers.  Cox noted that originally the project was designed to purchase in-car video systems, but the department has lately been considering going to body cams instead.  Cox noted that while he is generally in favor of body cams, “There are also a number of drawbacks with the body cams.  We are going to seriously weigh the pros and cons of each type of system before we start making purchases”.  Cox went on to note that the department’s officers would not enjoy many of the types of equipment they work with if not for the tremendous generosity of community groups like the Eagles.
