The goal of the National America recycle Day is to raise consumer awareness of completing the recycle circle, through purchase of products and packaging that have been made from recycled products.

Recycling in Pennsylvania is 10 years old this year. Pennsylvania has been a national leader in recycling. Last year Pennsylvania met it's goal of recycling of 25%, this years goal is 35%. Pennsylvanians have done a great job in recycling, but where we lack is following through on the circle.    We have all sat our recyclables out to be collected. Feeling good that we have done our part in saving the environment. Unfortunately, we have not "followed through". Once these items have been recycled, the items are used in making new products. When buying products keep in mind that to complete the circle you have to purchase items made from recycled products.    There are thousands of products on today's market that are made from recycled items, and many are produced right here in Pennsylvania. So remember, recycling is not just good for the environment, but good for the economy too.
